Kathamandu - Barahbishe – Lungurpa

Early morning drive
to Barabhishe 800m and commence trek to Lungurpa. The first
part of the trek, about 20 minutes, is flat to the Sunkoshi
temple here we cross the suspension bridge over the Sunkoshi
river. Then walk about half an hour through fields followed
by a steep climb for 1 hour through jungle to the Chhetri
village of Keurini. After passing the village of Keurini we
climb to the Gurung village of Bungathali, it is then only
a 45 minutes flat walk to the Gurung village of Lungurpa. |

A very pleasant 4 hour walk through
various villages of Gurung and Thami people. We then reach Ghorthali,
and the trail steepens to Brimthali, which is the last village
of the area. |

Brimthali - Kalinchowk - Kurikharka |

From Brimthali we have a stiff
climb to the summit of Kalinchowk - Pike Peak. While taking
lunch we'll enjoy the spectacular views of the Rolwaling,
Gauri Shankar, Jugal Himal and some peaks of Khumbu region.
After relaxing for a while we then head down hill to Kurikharka
for our overnight camp. |
