Overview:
Get to the top of a mountain and catch the amazing views
of the Himalaya, Sherpa lifestyle, and dense rhododendron
and oak forests.
Introduction:
For those wanting a short taste of the Khumbu then the ascent
of Pike Peak is an ideal trek. Lying just to the south of
the Everest Trail we pass through authentic Sherpa villages.
From the Linkhu Khola we steadily climb through terraced
fields, then rhododendron and magnolia forest. We now leave
villages behind us and ascend further through hemlock firs
to the cheese factory at Ngaur. The following day the summit
of Pike Peak reveals panoramic views of the Rolwaling Himal,
Everest and Makalu.
