3 Kathmandu - Lukla – Phakdhing 4 hours (2610m)
 
Early morning fly to Lukla and walk to Phakding. The flight has great views of about 200 km of the eastern Himalayas. After arriving in Lukla we walk through picturesque Sherpa villages to Phakding.

Phakdhing - Namche Bazaar

Crises-cross several bridges over the Dudhkosi River we then begin the long climb up to Namche Bazaar. During the climb there are views of Everest through pine forest. Namche is the main trading spot of the Khumbu region and has bakeries, Email service, money exchange, equipment shops, Sherpa Museum, and the National Park Headquarters.

Namche Bazaar

Acclimatization day. Use today to rest and explore the surrounding villages of Khumjung and Kunde, take in the sights and sounds of this famous bazaar, or check out the schools and hospitals set-up by Sir Edmund Hillary.

Namche Bazar - Tengboche

Early morning views of Mt Everest with breakfast before a flattish walk and then downhill to Phunki Tenga where we then climb up to Tengboche.

Tengboche

A day to explore the views around Tengboche and to visit the stunning monastery. This World Heritage site was originally built in 1916 but was destroyed by an earthquake in 1934. The rebuilt Gompa was then again destroyed in 1989 by fire, but the new buildings are true to the original designs and form an idyllic setting for the 30 or so young monks who live here.

Tengboche - Dingboche

Onwards towards Everest! A downhill section to Pangboche (the highest year-round settlement) takes us through stone walled villages to Dingboche where there is a high altitude clinic.

Dingboche- Chhukung

We follow the river to reach Chhukung. Where most people take on acclimatization day before heading to Island camp. Here we rest a little Island base walk around the area and make sure that we have all the gear we need for the summit. If we need more, we can buy them here. It might also be your last chance to stock up on gear.

Dingboche- Chhukung

We follow the river to reach Chhukung. Where most people take on acclimatization day before heading to Island camp. Here we rest a little Island base walk around the area and make sure that we have all the gear we need for the summit. If we need more, we can buy them here. It might also be your last chance to stock up on gear.

Island bascamp-High camp

We walk through green hills with no trees. We reach at our camp site before lunch. We can walk for a few hours on the hills around the valley.

High camp-Summit-Chhukung

We leave camp early to attack the summit by walking through the scree (roped together) and then on fixed ropes as we near the summit. From the summit there will be views of the Chhomolongma glacier and lake, as well as Ama Dablam(6812m) Lhotse(8516m) Peak Barun Tse(7129m) Makalu(8463m) after a rest to enjoy the view and take some photos we head back down to Chhukung, Where we will enjoy a well earned meal and sleep.

Chhukung-Tengboche

We have a long gradual descent to Pangboche where we stop for lunch. There are many lodges here. After lunch we continue through the through pine and rhododendron forests.

Tengboche-Namche

An easy walk down to Namche Bazaar through rhododendron, pine and bamboo forests, we can relax and enjoy the reduced altitude.

Namche-Phakding

After breakfast we continue through pine forest to Monjo where we rest for lunch. After lunch we follow the Dudkosi River until we stop for camp.

Phakding-Lukla

Fly Lukla-Kathmandu
 
The trail to Lukla straight continues through the village to Lukla. Where we enjoy our final night together before tomorrow's flight back to Kathmandu.
